Terry Fox Run

43 years and counting! The annual Terry Fox Run has become a tradition for many in our community. This amazing event is organized by volunteers. The DW Community Volunteers were honoured to play a small part this year.

Ward 5 Music Festival

Yellow Brick House (YBH)

June 2023

YBH provides life-saving services and prevention programs to individuals, families and communities impacted by violence. DW Community Volunteers put their furniture assembly skills to work putting together bookshelves and cabinets for the shelter.

Cover Your Asset$, Wills & Estate Planning with Les Kotzer

This event was the inspiration of one of our volunteers. Les 
did a great job explaining the importance of Powers of Attorney and a well worded Will. His story telling style was relatable and emphasized some of the unintended consequences faced by loved ones if we are not properly prepared. Thank you to all our guests for the food bank donations. Mayor David West's Maple Syrup Festival

DW Community Volunteers participated in both the planning and execution of this fun event in celebration of spring, maple syrup and pancakes.

Coldest Night of the Year

February 2023

DW Community Volunteers joined the mayor for a cold evening walk to raise funds in support of Blue Door, whose mission is to support those in our community at risk of or experiencing homelessness.

MacKenzie Health Foundation

December 2022

MacKenzie Health Foundation. Teams of DW Community Volunteers took shifts wrapping holiday gifts at Hillcrest Mall to raise funds for Mental Health. This was a fun way to enjoy the season of good cheer and get great gift ideas!
